Dad said I did so well mowing the lawn last week that now I could mow it every week.\u00a0 He is trying to push all of his jobs off on me\u2014and I am just a kid.\u00a0 There should be some law to protect us kids from working in the summers.\u00a0 Then he said that I would get a $2.00 for each week I did the mowing.\u00a0 This is sounding better than I thought. I like money!<\/p>\n
And then the surprise: \u00a0Dad explained that the flower bed between our house and the neighbors need to be weeded.\u00a0 That was my new job for the week. I can handle mowing but weeding is something else.\u00a0 This is hot and dirty work.\u00a0 If Adam and Eve had not messed up there would be no weeds.\u00a0 This is their fault!\u00a0 I have to clean up after them.\u00a0 Anyway, Dad took me out to the flower bed and showed me the difference between weeds and flowers and told me to get started.\u00a0 I bet this job is going to take at least two days of my summer vacation.\u00a0 I hate weeds\u2014and by the way I pull them out I bet they are hating me.\u00a0 Every 15 minutes I need to take a break, get some water\u2014and wish I were younger.\u00a0 \u00a0A swim in the pool would sure be fun about now.<\/p>\n
